From the new musical "Glory," book, music, and lyrics by David Reiffel.

Synopsis: In a town near you, a local church sees a threat in a billboard atheists have put up across the road, and the congregation has appealed to a nationally-known Dominionist preacher for help. But when his wife, Glory, has a strange encounter with a homeless man, her world is shaken. As battle lines are drawn, she must choose which is more important: her belief, or the truth.

"Beside You" occurs near the end of the show, after Glory has confronted her husband about his dangerous plans, with violent results.

David Reiffel has written scores for over a dozen musicals, the latest being "Glory" (currently in development) and "The Rag Doll," which received its premiere at Blue Spruce Theatre in May 2012. He was composer in residence for the nationally-acclaimed Cornerstone Theater Company for its first five years on the road. Also a theatrical sound designer, he currently resides in Boston.
