One of New York's "most talented young writers," Brett is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory. He has written and developed three full-length musicals - in addition to multiple cabaret and solo songs for musical theatre. Brett's first original musical, Take Two! The Musical! earned rave reviews during it's World Premiere Production. He also composed the original score for the stage adaptation of Mr. Popper's Penguins. His newest project, Time Between Us, was named "Critic's Pick" of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, opened a regional premiere production at Serenbe Playhouse, and is currently in development for an Off-Broadway run. Time Between Us is being called 'one of the most thought-provoking, cutting edge pieces of musical theatre this decade.'
His conducting credits include multiple national tours and regional theatres - and his arrangements are frequently heard in concerts and recordings across the world. Brett's work is continually performed at distinguished New York City venues: Ars Nova, Joe's Pub, The Duplex, and The Knitting Factory.
He currently resides in New York City, where he vocal coaches some of Broadway's most gifted stars. Brett is Vocal Director for Royal Caribbean Productions - and Founding Director of Broadway Playground. He is also a proud member of ASCAP, The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.
