About the song

A jaunty song about well, um... penis envy. "The fantasy I have of my imaginary penis/Is simply to hold it,/Just to stand and hold it out from my body/ like a QVC product or the first fish I ever caught." With an even jauntier whistled part at the end.

(from Dreamhouse, a theatrical song cycle by David Wolfson and Barbara DeCesare.)

The sheet music is available in the following keys/versions: .

Sung by Karen Oster. Piano/Vocal demo.

Dreamhouse was produced as part of the 2005 Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York City to critical acclaim. It's a theatrical song cycle based on the poems of Barbara DeCesare, with a unique lyric voice.
